  • Responsive capacitive touchscreen , HTC's outstanding Sense UI , Great range of apps and widgets pre-installed , Web browser is a pleasure to use
  • Lack of significant internal memory , Poor video file recognition
  • With excellent web browsing, email and access to apps, the HTC Hero is one of the few mobiles to truly challenge the iPhone this year....

  • Abstract:  Overall, the Hero is very impressive and on first looks could have been a proper contender to the iPhone's crown. But there are too many little faults that need to be addressed, but hopefully with the arrival in the near future of Android 1.6 (Donut) ...

  • Abstract:  18 months ago, I moved to using an iPhone, prior to that I had been a Motorola; as a Windows Mobile user, the difference between the two platforms was like chalk and cheese. Click to enlargeWith the iPhone you had touch, big buttons for a keypad and a...

  • Overall this is a massive improvement. The phone is well worth buying. What HTC has done is deliver an excellent consumer experience and bucket loads of functionality, from Google Maps to camcorder to easy access to applications.
  • Needs more processing grunt; menus not as smooth to scroll through as the iPhone; difficult to add contacts.

  • Subtle, elegant, longlasting design, Sense UI a significant help to Android, Good call quality on at least HSPA networks, Android more flexible for thirdparty apps, Multitouch and inbrowser Flash, Cheap on Telus and Verizon,
  • Still running Android 1.5, Same CPU as the Magic/myTouch 3G, Camera not much of an upgrade, Flash support somewhat oversold, Expensive on Sprint.
  • The Hero has a knack for creating an oddly emotional attachment with its owner. While we've had gripes with the strictly average performance or the lackluster camera, the subtle but unique design and the customizations to Android make it feel like a co...

  • Battery power can drain easily if you switch on all updates and it can run a little sluggishly if you've lots of applications open at once, but if you're looking for a powerful smart phone that has a world of great apps at its fingertips and does every...

  • Despite the fact that every Android smartphone is Internet oriented (Google), and Hero sure isn’t exception, HTC managed to include decent multimedia features. Solid camera, with great picture quality and very good display with decent sound quality...

  • Abstract:  After learning a few lessons from the HTC Magic, HTC has pulled up their socks with the Hero. As far as Android hardware goes, this is a big step in the right direction. A very well built device, the Hero has a large 3.2-inch capacitive multitouc...
